CCCII Exemplar Units Introduction

Among the central products of the Common Core Catholic Identity Initiative are the Exemplar Units. Design Team members and teams of teachers and diocesan educators from around the country worked in June 2012 to create several initial exemplar units at several grade levels, using the CCCII ELA Unit Template.  These units were drafted, reviewed, revised, and reviewed again.  They are excellent, but still not “perfect.”  They serve as examples to assist the work of additional teams of teachers in schools and dioceses across the country. 

As the CCCII continues, and the unit design process is replicated in other dioceses, we will offer opportunities for teams to submit additional units for review and posting on this website, so they may be shared with the larger Catholic educational community.  In addition, these units can serve as frameworks within which local teachers can adapt them for use with other texts available to them.
